The urge for such an android emulator was made prior to the starting of the wonderful OS. Brainy heads in US knew this mobile OS is going to make an history, so they decided to replicate its environment on the computers without having to install the OS on the computers permanently and without getting the users in the coding part. The development of this emulator started in 2009, by a US based company, under the supervision of Rosen Sharma, expert in the field and Ex CTO in mcAfee.
The object was to develop a virtual machine, which would allow Android apps and games to run on the compatible desktop operating systems. Initially, in 2011 first ever official version of the Bluestacks appeared; this version was an Alpha version and was limited for use to some excluded developers and communities. Later huge amount of bugs were discovered in the emulator, which made the developers to rethink on the idea. Although, the next version was highly improvised version and is accountable for its success what we see today.
Bluestack initially operated on Gingerbread edition of Android. Bluestack was not much appreciated and was not a promising project, the same was the reason why it was unable to gather much sponsers in the very starting of its development. However, now it has became as huge as the OS itself and many companies are now supporting it including the google itself.
